    The In-Room Dining Server is responsible for presenting guest food and beverage preferences timely and to temperature.  Servers engage in casual conversation and enhance the experience by their style and service attributes.  Other duties include general in room dining preparation, removal of serving trays, and maintaining a sanitary environment.

     

     

    Responsibilities

    • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
    • Follow FL and Miami-Dade County ordinances and laws regarding responsible service of alcohol
    • Serve food courses and alcoholic beverages to guests
    • Answer questions on menu/alcoholic selections for guests
    • Communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen
    • Handle cash, room charges, guest member charges and credit card charges according to procedures
    • Deliver VIP amenities.
    • Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction with each food course and/or beverages
    • Set tables and trays according to service standards
    • Communicate with the kitchen regarding menu questions, the length of wait, re-cooking orders, and product availability
    • Maintain cleanliness of work areas, china, glass, etc., throughout the day
    • Complete closing duties, including restocking items, locking coolers, turning off lights, etc.
    • Present physical and accurate check to guests and process payments
    • Ensure uniform and personal appearance is clean and professional
    • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards
    • Anticipate and address guests’ service needs
    • Speak with others using clear and professional language
    • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others and support your team to reach common goals
    • Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards
    • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance.
    • Thank guests with genuine appreciation
    • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors or Managers
    • Maintain complete knowledge of all liquor brands, beer and non-alcoholic selections, correct glassware and garnishes in outlet assigned.

    Qualifications

    Education: 

    High school diploma or equivalent vocational training certificate required.

     

    Licenses or Certifications: 

    Food Handlers Certification

     

    Experience:

    • Prior experience as room service, restaurant or banquet server.
    • Prior experience within a four star hotel brand preferred.
    • Ability to learn and utilize computer software and hardware required. Ability to easily maneuver on computer keyboard required.
    • Ability to learn, utilize and communicate effectively via company issued communication devices (e.g. radios, etc).
    • Advanced ability to comprehend and speak English to understand and respond to information and address advanced guest requests required both verbally and in writing.
    • Knowledge of additional language(s) preferred.
    • Must be customer-service oriented and have excellent hospitality skills.
    • Must meet age requirement to serve alcoholic beverages
