Responsibilities

The Human Resources Director is based at Shore Club. The Shore Club brings a fresh, modern vibe to the dynamic energy of South Beach, offering a luxurious playground for the jet-set at this boutique oceanside resort hotel.

 

Under the general guidance of the General Manager, responsible for leading short and long term strategy planning and execution management of the Human Resources function for the hotel. Major areas of responsibility/ management include, but are not limited to: recruitment, wage and salary administration, benefits, training, employee/labor relations, organizational development and payroll.  Work closely with General Manager in implementing, achieving and maintaining the property and sbe goals and objectives. 

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Providing leadership and development to your direct reports ensuring they are able to support and fuel the organization for growth
  • Acting as an employee champion and change agent
  • Serve as liaison to Corporate executive audience
  • Oversee all employment labor & relations matters
  • Provide leadership for all company benefits administration
  • Assessing and anticipating HR-related needs to include training and recruiting
  • Providing day-to-day performance management guidance to operating managers specifically with coaching, career development, and disciplinary actions
  • Partnering with operations managers to resolve employee disputes and/or performance issues
  • Providing guidance to management team on labor laws and disciplinary proceedings
  • Ensuring compliance with legal requisites and reporting statues
  • Working closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention
  • Assisting in the administration of leaves of absences and workers compensation
  • Creating strategy for Recruiting, Training and Employee Engagement 

Qualifications

  • Enjoy working in an ever-changing, high paced and challenging environment
  • At least 5 years of prior experience as a senior manager or director in human resources, preferably in the hospitality industry
  • Must have advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook)
  • Must have extensive experience complying with ERISA, COBRA, FMLA/CFRA/PDL, EEOC, OSHA/CALOSHA and HIPAA regulations
  • Strong understanding of applicable laws related to break compliance and EEO in the state of Florida
  • Must have an in-depth working knowledge of salary planning tools and practices, job evaluation techniques and market salary trends
  • Experience with ADP, ICIMs or other applicant tracking systems and HRIS or other benefit/HRIS systems
  • Must have strong analytical and project management skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are critical as well as the ability to demonstrate empathy and understating in dealing with sensitive employee issues
  • Ability to work independently and on a team on multiple projects
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
