Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Assistant General Manager will support all aspects of the operation including guest and employee satisfaction, human resources, financial performance, and sales and revenue generation. Assists the General Manager in leading the team in the development and implementation of strategies. Ensures implementation of the brand service strategy and brand initiatives with the objective of meeting or exceeding guest expectations. 

Fi’lia features honest Italian food highlighting fresh ingredients from the wood grill and hearth, handmade breads and pasta, and a signature tableside Caesar salad. The restaurant celebrates the essence of a Chef Schwartz dining experience – a fresh and pure approach to food and drink served in an unpretentious setting.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Creates and ensures a fresh, positive and exciting environment where sanitation, flawless delivery and execution of product excellence and service are paramount.
  • Accountable for and dedicated to ensuring service commitments, standards/expectations, financial goals, and policies/procedures are consistently upheld.
  • Builds rapport, commitment, and loyalty with team members and customers.
  • Assists General Manager with service standards, budgeting, P&L analysis, entertainment, food quality, payroll, supply inventories, sanitation of bars and restaurant, development of hourly staff and Restaurant Managers, as well as maintaining positive staff morale.
  • Must adhere to the sbe Policies and Procedures.
  • Responsible for the overall operation of the outlet in the absence of the General Manager.
  • Must be able to make decisions, direct staff, and ensure standards/expectations are being met in the absence of the General Manager.
  • Ensures that service is carried out in accordance with established policy.
  • Hires, coaches and counsels. and documentation of personnel according to established personnel policies and procedures.
  • Assists General Manager with training and evaluating all restaurant personnel including salaried and hourly team members and enforces food and beverage policies and procedures.
  • Ensures sanitation compliance throughout restaurant/bar.
  • Handles customer complaints
  • Responsible for meeting profit goals.
  • Responsible for compliance with all regulatory requirements within area of responsibility.
  • Promotes positive public/employee relations at all times.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within area of responsibility.
  • Performs all other related and compatible duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or GED; 4 years experience in F&B Management role in a similar caliber restaurant.OR
  • 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major; 2 years experience in F&B Management role in a similar caliber restaurant.

 

Certifications and Training

Management Food Handlers and ServSafe Tip Certification

 

Experience

  • Ideal candidates will have through knowledge and an existing client base for restaurant locale.
  • Solid financial skills and the ability to analyze financial statements and modify operations to meet financial goals.
  • Strong knowledge of front and back of house operations including food, beverages, employee supervision, inventory, food safety, service techniques, and guest interaction.
  • Maintain sanitation procedures and organization of work area adhering to all OSHA regulations.
  • Strong understanding of cost and labor systems that lead to restaurant profitability.
  • The ability to maintain a "sense of urgency" attitude for the completion of responsibilities/tasks.
  • Superior organizational and follow up skills with extreme attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills combined with advanced computer and math skills.
  • Stable and progressive work history; strong work ethic.
  • Dedication and willingness to go above and beyond. 

 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • 100% Walk and stand
  • 90% Communicate with Guests and Team Members
  • 50% Operate cash register, Point of Sale system, and cash handling
  • 25% Reach, bend, stoop, wipe and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be available for work 50+ hours per week prior to, during and beyond our hours of operations on any given day, subject to scheduled and approved absences or time off.

GROOMING:

All Team Members must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance (specific standards available).

 

OTHER:

Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

 

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.

 

Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with sbe rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of the hotel’s facilities. Employees who violate hotel rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
