COMPLEX DIRECTOR of Human Resources



The Complex Director of Human Resources will be responsible for short and long term planning and management of the Human Resources function at the base hotel.  Will participate as a strategic Executive Committee member at the base hotel.  The Complex Director of Human Resources will serve as the senior human resources advisor and leader for the supporting hotels/venues in the area with respect to human resources functions and responsibilities. 



  • Areas of responsibility and management include but not limited to, employment, wage and salary administration, performance management, recruitment, retention management, benefits, employee/labor relations, organization development and training.
  • Providing leadership and development to your direct reports ensuring they are able to support and fuel the organization for growth
  • Acts as an employee champion and change agent
  • Champions an environment of open and effective communication channels
  • Serves as liaison to Corporate executive audience
  • Assessing and anticipating HR-related needs to include training, development and recruiting needs
  • Providing day-to-day performance management guidance to operating managers specifically with coaching, career development, and disciplinary actions
  • Provides guidance to management team on labor laws and disciplinary proceedings
  • Ensures compliance with legal requisites and reporting statues
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention
  • Assisting in the administration of leaves of absences and workers compensation
  • Creating strategy for Recruiting, Retention, Training and Development, Employee Engagement within the area.


  • Enjoy working in an ever-changing, high paced and challenging environment
  • At least 5 years of prior experience at a high level human resources role
  • Must have advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook)
  • Must have extensive experience complying with ERISA, COBRA, FMLA/CFRA/PDL, EEOC, OSHA/CALOSHA and HIPAA regulations
  • Strong understanding of applicable laws related to break compliance and EEO in the state of Florida
  • Must have an in-depth working knowledge of salary planning tools and practices, job evaluation techniques and market salary trends
  • Experience with UltiPro, ADP, ICIMs or other applicant tracking systems and HRIS or other benefit/HRIS systems
  • Must have strong analytical and project management skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are critical as well as the ability to demonstrate empathy and understating in dealing with sensitive employee issues
  • Ability to work independently and on a team on multiple projects
