Overview

SBE MIAMI One

The Pastry Cook is responsible for production, preparation, and presentation of desserts and pastries for The Bazaar, while maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment. The ideal candidate must be innovative, creative, detail-oriented, and a multi-tasker with good communication and interpersonal relationship skills.

Responsibilities

 

  •   Safety, including universal precautions and safe work practices, established fire/safety/disaster plans, risk management, and   security, report and/or correct unsafe working conditions, equipment repair   and maintenance needs.
  •   Ensures that all kitchen equipment and facilities is in good working order and is properly maintained
  •   Ability to work under time constraints and meet department deadlines.
  •   Follow restaurant policies and procedures and recipe standards.
  •   Assist with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen, walk-in coolers, and all storage areas.
  •   Perform additional responsibilities as requested by management.
  •   Prepare to order all food items, following standard recipes and procedures within specified time limits.
  •   Prep assigned items.
  •   Understands and enforce federal, state, and local food sanitation regulations.

Qualifications

  •   3-5 years recent experience in a position relevant to position applying for.
  •   Must be fluent in the English language, both written and oral.  Multilingual skills are a plus.
  •   Must be able to work in a fast pace and high-volume environment in the presence of areas containing second hand smoke, high noise   levels, dancing, bright lights and dust and communicate during this time – sometimes within a small area.
  •   Must be able to stand or walk a minimum eight-hour shift.
  •   Ability to work in elevated temperatures.
  •   Continuous bending, reaching and twisting required.
  •   Must be able observant and quick to respond to various situations and requests while also multitasking and handling stressful   situations.
  •   Must be able to twist, tow   (push or pull), reach, bend, climb and carry objects as needed per business   needs.
  •   Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds and manually   push/pull up to 150 pounds.
  •   Excellent communication skills and be able to read, write, speak and understand English is a must.
  •   Must be able to work in a fast pace and high-volume environment in the presence of areas containing second hand smoke, high noise   levels, dancing, bright lights and dust and communicate during this time – sometimes within a small area.
