    Bazaar Mar by José Andrés, is a ground-breaking new experience that lights up downtown Miami with a vibrant mix of sophisticated cuisine, playful indoor and outdoor lounge spaces. Highlights include sea snacks, an extensive raw bar, whole fish, Bazaar classics and carefully curated wines list in Philippe Starck's strikingly setting that transcends an ordinary event into a fête extraordinaire.

    The Prep Cook is responsible for assisting in the preparation of meals by chopping vegetables, creating salads, and assisting put together entries based on menu order. The Prep Cook will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment.

     
     

    Responsibilities

    • Food preparation, chopping vegetables, making salads and putting together entrees.
    • Ensuring that food is properly stored.
    • Performing kitchen maintenance; emptying the trash, mopping floors and washing dishes.
    • Learns and adheres to the designated cooking methods to assist in preparing the appropriate menu items consistently.
    • Strives to learn to improve cooking skills and expands knowledge about food products and techniques.
    • Assists with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of the kitchen, walk-in coolers and all storage areas.
    • Performs additional responsibilities as requested by the Chef, Sous Chef or Kitchen Manager at any time.

    Qualifications

    Education

    Culinary school degree preferred but not required.

     

    Experience

    1-2 years’ recent experience relevant to this position preferred.

     

    LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES:

    Food Handler Certification

     

    Other

    • Must exhibit a focused attention to detail, while working in a high-pressure environment.
    • Possess the ability to work as part of a team.
    • Must be self-motivated to see tasks through to completion.
    • Must be able to lift and carry heavy trays and equipment in addition to handling delicate objects, such as glassware, without damaging.
    • Understands and enforce federal, state, and local food sanitation regulations.
    • Must be able to work in a fast pace and high-volume environment in the presence of areas containing second hand smoke, high noise levels, dancing, bright lights and dust and communicate during this time – sometimes within a small area.

     

    Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the resort. Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by sbe from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position.
