The Vice President of Finance is responsible for providing financial leadership to sbe’s restaurants, nightclubs and the UMAMI Brand. He/she is responsible for focusing on the profitability of the business, maintaining accurate and timely financial reporting, ensuring acceptable levels on internal control, owner relations, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, and safeguarding owners/investors assets.



  • Manage relations with all restaurants, nightclubs owners, asset managers, enders and ensure accurate and timely reporting requirements are achieved
  • Facilitate all pre-opening and launching as well as closings.
  • Prepare reports which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations
  • Manage and communicate cash flow related issues which includes the accurate and timely preparation of cash flow statements, cash flow forecasts, management of receivables, payables, cash balances, control mechanisms and timely deposits of all funds
  • Monitor restaurant and nightclub revenues and expenses and ensure the accurate recording in accordance with sbe established guidelines
  • Investigate and critique variances to budget, forecast, or prior year and offer practical improvement methodologies
  • Implement regional cost savings initiatives
  • Supervise regionalized accounting teams
  • Ensure sbe Standard Financial Procedures are in place and operating effectively
  • Lead the implementation of system and application changes and updates
  • Monitor and approve the annual capex budget and capital planning process by assisting management with the calculation of return on capital improvements, gathering support and monitoring the bid process, and ensuring proper upkeep of the property by evaluating scope of work and specifications
  • Ensure restaurant and nightclub compliance on all regulatory licenses and permits, leases, contracts, legal agreements, and the proper execution of all operational taxes
  • Provide assistance to management in enforcing compliance on all these items
  • Establish relations with banks and other financial institutions
  • Analyze financial data and operations in order to assist and advise management in maintaining the restaurant and nightclub financial objectives.
  • Ensure that all balance sheet accounts, including bank reconciliation’s are reconciled on a timely basis
  • Establish, or recommend to management, corporate economic strategies, objectives, and policies for company
  • Embrace a continuous growth environment by actively assisting in recruiting and maintaining strong financial leaders, such as Controllers, Assistant Controllers, Accounting Managers, and other managers for the organization


  • A minimum of ten years of related progressive experience in hospitality accounting or related field
  • A Bachelor’s degree with an Accounting/ Finance concentration
  • Prior Finance leadership role in hospitality company
